Local Attractions

Witches Craig is approximately 3 miles from Stirling and is on a regular bus route. On the other hand you can use the local Park and Ride service.

Stirling is Scotland’s newest city and one of its most historic. For holiday makers the city is at Scotland’s crossroads. Many visitors make Stirling their base to explore other parts of the country.

The surrounding area provides a wealth of diverse attractions which begin right on our doorstep with the Wallace Monument and The Old Stirling Bridge – site of William Wallace’s historic victory in 1297. The ancient city has developed around the magnificent Stirling Castle. It is a blend of old and new, contrasting a host of ancient buildings and quaint shops with modern facilities which include a large shopping centre. In addition to Stirling Castle there is the Old Town Jail, the Tolbooth Arts Centre and Bannockburn Heritage Centre which commemorates King Robert the Bruce’s victory in 1314.

The Peak, at Stirling Sports Village, is a stunning new complex which provides a 6 lane swimming pool, children’s fun pool, ice rink, gymnasium, sports hall, climbing wall, café and restaurant. Alongside The Peak is the Vue Cinema featuring 8 stadium seated auditoriums. The more energetic could visit the ten-pin bowling, dry ski slope, horse riding school, golf courses or even climb to the top of Dumyat or Sheriffmuir.

There is a varied range of activities, all within walking distance from the park. The University of Stirling has some beautiful walks around it’s loch, that are rich in wildlife, whilst the MacRobert Art Centre regularly has plays, films, shows and exhibitions. The magnificent National Wallace Monument and the quaint Logie Kirk provide excellent destinations for a walk. The Blairmains Farm Shop, within a 10 minute walk, provides a varied range of fresh delicacies, foods and gifts while the neighbouring Coffee Bothy offers excellent drinks, snacks and meals. The Ochil Hills provide great walks and spectacular views and their lower slopes are accessible from the park.

Within a 10 mile radius of Witches Craig places of interest include Castle Campbell, Alloa Tower, Alva and Dollar Glen, Bridge of Allan Brewery, The Pineapple, Doune Castle, Dunblane Cathedral, Blair Drummond Safari Park, Smith Art Gallery, The Falkirk Wheel, Museums and Parks.

If you find the time to venture further afield, our park is within one hour’s drive of the multitude of attractions offered by Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, St. Andrews, Falkirk and the Trossachs.
